Modern dental implants have revolutionized the dentist's world too.  Before implants were reliable (nearly two decades ago) dentists had to make some less than optimal (and often heroic) compromises in order to retain strategic teeth, just to avoid some of the problems, for example, of a lower denture.

Modern implants can be as reliable as the teeth they replace, and can restore an entire mouth of natural teeth.  And they are much less difficult to place than some of the stories you might have heard--some are even placed without requiring any stitches!

But implants can be very expensive, and might not be covered by your dental insurance.  For that reason we only suggest implants as they are needed--to replace a single tooth (instead of a bridge) or to help hold a lower denture in place.

Of course we do the big cases too, but if it is at all possible you are still better off with your original teeth.  That is why we are a periodontics office, not an implant office!
