Your first appointment will be an examination that usually lasts about an hour.  We use your dentist's X-rays whenever possible, but additional radiographs will be taken if necessary. If you wish to download the two medical and dental history forms to print out and complete at home click here.  For security reasons we ask that you do not email them to us, but bring them to your first appointment. 

We usually do not do periodontal therapy at the first appointment, unless you are in pain or need a biopsy or cytology study for diagnosis.  If you must travel a long way to see us, you can make arrangements to begin therapy immediately following the examination.  Patients referred for certain specific procedures such as frenectomy, transeptal fiber surgery, tooth exposure or crown length surgery are usually scheduled to have the procedure done at the time of the first visit.
